By participating in the Live Agent Studio Hackathon, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Please read this agreement carefully. If you do not agree, you may not participate in the Event.
2. Eligibility
- Participants must be at least 18 years old.
- Submissions must be made as an individual.
- Employees of the Event Organizer, sponsors, or affiliates are not eligible to compete for prizes.
3. Original Work and Submission Requirements
By submitting a project, you represent and warrant that:
- (a) The Submission is your original work and does not infringe on the intellectual property (IP) rights of others.
- (b) You have full rights to use any third-party tools, APIs, or datasets included in your Submission.
- (c) The Submission does not contain harmful, offensive, or illegal material.
Submissions must comply with the guidelines provided by the Event Organizer, including format, deadlines, and scope.
Submissions must be complete, functional, and follow the Developer Guide requirements.
View Developer Guide4. Intellectual Property Ownership and License
a. Ownership
Participants retain ownership of their Submissions and all associated intellectual property rights.
b. License to Event Organizer
By submitting your project, you grant the Event Organizer a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable, sublicensable license to:
- (i) Use, reproduce, modify, publicly display, commercialize, or distribute the Submission for purposes related to and outside of the promotion, evaluation, and showcasing of the Event.
- (ii) Showcase your Submission on platforms such as the Organizer’s website, social media, and marketing materials.
c. Third-Party Rights
If your Submission includes third-party content (e.g., open-source tools, datasets), you must comply with the applicable licenses and disclose usage.
5. Publicity and Media Release
By participating, you consent to the Organizer using your name, likeness, and Submission for promotional purposes, including press releases, social media, and other media formats, without additional compensation.
6. Data Privacy
- The Organizer will collect and process personal information (e.g., name, email, submission details) for the purposes of managing the Event.
- Personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- You consent to the storage and sharing of your personal information with sponsors or partners solely for Event-related purposes.
7. Liability Waiver
By participating in the Event, you agree:
- (a) To assume all risks related to participation, including technical malfunctions, data loss, or project errors.
- (b) To release the Event Organizer, sponsors, and affiliates from any claims, liabilities, or damages arising from your participation in the Event.
- (c) That the Organizer is not responsible for any third-party tools, APIs, or services used in your Submission.
8. Code of Conduct
Participants are expected to adhere to a professional and respectful standard of behavior. Harassment, discrimination, or disruptive conduct will not be tolerated and may result in disqualification from the Event.
9. Disqualification and Termination
The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify Submissions or Participants who:
- (a) Violate these Terms and Conditions.
- (b) Submit plagiarized or inappropriate content.
- (c) Engage in unfair practices or misconduct during the Event.
- (d) Submit agents that are not compatible with the Live Agent Studio.
The Organizer may cancel or modify the Event at its sole discretion.
10. Prize Distribution
All prizes are denominated in United States Dollars (USD). Prize money will be distributed by oTTomator to winning submissions during the month of February 2025. Winners will be contacted directly regarding prize distribution details.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Lorain County, Ohio.
12. Agreement to Terms
By submitting an agent to the Live Agent Studio Hackathon, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
By participating in the Live Agent Studio Hackathon, you agree to these Terms and Conditions, as well as the oTTomator Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
